For those in the New York city area, there’s a microfinance event in your neck of the woods this coming Wednesday worth checking out. Wokai.org, which has been covered here on myKRO before, is doing a fundraising party to celebrate the launch of their New York Chapter!

What: Wokai NYC Launch

Who: Socially conscious young professionals

Where: BLVD, 199 Bowery, New York, NY 10002

When: Wednesday, May 27th from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m.

Why: To raise funds to help bring the 200 million people in China living on a $1 a day out of poverty.

  • 9 – 9:30 PM: Presentation by Casey Wilson, Wokai Co-Founder and CEO
  • 10 PM: Final bids for silent auction items
